How do High School Basketball players get recruited to college?

How do High School Basketball players get recruited to college?Do they play AAU and get recruited from that or they get recruited from high school?

Jordan answers:

It depends on what level of college, I would guess that most D-1 recruits play high school basketball and AAU. High School probably gets the most attention because there is a clearly defined high school basketball season with district and state championships but going to big AAU tournaments and doing well can also help a player get recruited.

im doing this basketball program and the trainer told each of us to pick a player that you think is most like you in terms of skill, physique etc. and watch game footage of them and try and model some of the things they do well im 14 5 foot 7 inches 130 pounds right handed ive been told that im extremely explosive and not alot of ppl can keep up with me in the open court or off the dribble im right handed, my jumpshot is very streaky tho, its on fire during one game and then ice cold during another i can jump, but im not a atheltic freak high flyer my passing is decent mayb a little above average i think i
